Here is a written explanation of how the Resort Swaps process works:
The Resort Swaps programme makes exchanging your timeshare week stress-free. Here’s how it enables you to enjoy staying at a new destination.
The first point to emphasise is the Resort Swaps system operates a ‘matching’ system and not a ‘credit’ system.
What we mean by this is that you do not give up your week for a swap until we find an acceptable match for you. This makes Resort Swaps different to other holiday swaps systems.
Most of the other systems use what is known as a credit system. With a credit system, you immediately deposit your week into the system and lose your rights to use that week at your home resort.
In return for your deposited week. you are given a credit to use. This credit allows you to pick a week as and when it becomes available.
In recent years, members at both Sutton Hall and Kingswear Park have complained that, by using other swap systems, they have given up their week but have been unable to use their credit due to a lack of appealing availability. This level of dissatisfaction was one of the influences behind the creation of Resort Swaps.
To reiterate, with Resort Swaps, you simply register your week as potentially available to swap. If an appealing week exists at the other resort, you have the option of requesting that week for a swap with your week. If the other week’s owner is happy to swap, we can complete that swap transaction for you.
Please see the step by step process below
Register your Owned Week
You begin by registering the details of a week you own at your home resort into our swap pool. This marks it as potentially available for exchange but does not commit it yet.
Get Matched
Our team searches for a reciprocating week that matches your resort quality, season and unit size preferences from our resort listings.
Review & Confirm the Proposed Swap
If we find an appealing exchange option at your desired destination, we send you the details for consideration. You can review it leisurely and confirm back only if it meets your expectations.
Paperwork Finalised
On receiving consent from you and the other swapping party, we complete all paperwork to finalise the week exchange between you.
Resorts Are Informed
We notify your home resort and the destination resort on the swap details including guest name, arrival date, unit number etc. so they extend appropriate access and services to you at the exchanged resort.
Receive Confirmation Sheet
You get a Swap Confirmation sheet from us outlining the final exchange details to seamlessly enjoy your swapped week stay.
Resort Confirms Bedding Type
The exchanged resort will contact you to confirm the number of adults/children in your party and preferred bedding layout and provisions layout to best prepare your unit well in advance.
Travel to Exchanged Resort
You simply travel to the swapped resort on the allotted date to start your exchanged vacation at the new destination seamlessly and stress-free!
Pay Swap Fee
A modest £75 facilitation fee per successful exchange is payable to Resort Swaps post-swap confirmation. This admin cost can be settled securely online.
We handle all the paperwork so you can focus just on enjoying discovering a fantastic new resort through the power of swapping!
